K-2 Basketball clinic starts the weekend of Dec 5th and 6th at Jordan Middle School

The PANJB K-2 clinic is a skills based program focused on building basketball fundamentals in a fun environment. The program is used as a fundraiser for the Palo Alto High School girls Basketball program and directed by Scott Peters, the Palo Alto High School Girls Varsity Basketball coach.

The clinic will be run over the weekends at Jordan Middle School, with your child attending one session on Saturday (3pm or 4.30pm) and one session on Sunday (3pm or 4.30pm).

Our 3pm to 4.30pm session will be geared towards beginners and younger kids (typically K-1st grades) while the 4.30pm to 6pm session will be primarily for returning/experienced players (typically 2nd grade). However, to the extent possible, we will be flexible and allow parents to pick which session they feel is right for their child based on ability as well as other commitments. We will use the first weekend as evaluation sessions to help this process.

For returning parents and children – in previous years we ran concurrent sessions on Saturday and Sunday at Palo Alto High School as we had 2 gyms next to each other. With these gyms closed this year for renovation, we will instead have 2 back-to-back sessions: one from 3pm to 4.30pm and the other from 4.30pm to 6pm. With this format, we would like kids of relatively equal ability playing against each other as well as having roughly the same number of kids at each session.

Each session will be 90 minutes long:

  • Skills development: 35 minutes
  • Small group play, 2-on-2 and 2-on-1 games: 15 minutes
  • 5 on 5 games: 40 minutes

The weekends will be:

  • December:  5/6, 12/13, 19 (no Dec 20th Sunday session)
  • January: 9/10, 16/17, 23/24, 30/31
  • February: 6/7, 20/21

The last sessions on Sunday February 21st includes a season ending pizza party.

The cost for the program is $320 and you can register at
